A core element of the Covisory Partners Family Office is to assist our clients to implement their strategic giving programmes. Whether you have a long heritage of giving, or are looking to create a legacy for future generations, we have the expertise to assist you in achieving the best philanthropic outcomes for you and your family.

Within the New Zealand context, there are many ways to make a charitable gift.

  • Direct giving
  • Bequests
  • Assignment of income from assets
  • Donation of assets
  • Discounted or donated goods or services
  • Sponsorship
  • Adding someone as the beneficiary of a trust
  • Establishing a charitable trust
  • Giving to a community foundation.

The approach you select will be based on your own personal needs and your vision of what you want to achieve. We will work with you to ensure you have a good understanding of your reasons for giving and what you are trying to achieve, so you can select the best way for you to go about it.

We take care of the details for you

We offer our clients an innovative service that reflects their unique circumstances and investment needs. Our services cover the establishment, management, and monitoring of philanthropic programmes. We understand philanthropy and we know how to apply philanthropy for the greatest community impact.

Your philanthropic vision

Our aim is to ensure that the creation of a gift programme is a positive and rewarding experience that will enrich yours and your family’s lives as well as the lives of others. One dimension of this is engaging your children with family giving, ensuring that philanthropy becomes a valuable educational tool. We will help you create enduring impact in all aspects of your philanthropic journey.

Create a philanthropic entity

We can advise you on the most appropriate philanthropic entity, given your  vision and your needs. Our services include assistance with the formation of a constitution or trust deed and obtaining the appropriate approvals from Inland Revenue.

On-going administration of your trust

We assist our clients with on-going administration matters, including board meeting agendas and minutes, bank account management, preparation of returns and audited financial statements for Inland Revenue, and claims for imputation credit refunds.

Community Foundation Partners

We work with two community foundations. To learn more about the activities of the Auckland Communities Foundation, please visit http://www.aucklandcf.org.nz/ and for Geyser Community Foundation, please visit  http://www.geysercf.org.nz.  To start the conversation about your strategic giving, contact our Director Nigel Smith on +64 9 307 1777.
